At the beginning of April we had the pleasure to visit the AWS summit again. Hosted in the RAI we had a full day of interesting breakout sessions and connected with partners and customers. The representatives of this year were; Bas, Walter, Nikhil, Sverre, Jeroen and Mandy. In this blogpost, we would like to share a few key takeaways of our point of view.

Everything you need to accelerate your generative AI journey

Everybody thought that blockchain would take over the world. We believe that Gen AI will become the holy grail and with us, AWS is thinking the same. During the summit there were numerous sessions where Gen AI was touched upon and there were numerous sessions on how AWS Bedrock and AWS Q can help us captivate customers interests and enhance productivity.

At the AWS Summit, discussions on employing AI to refine prompt engineering yielded pragmatic insights into optimizing human-machine interactions, an essential facet for enhancing AI applicability. AWS Bedrock was recognized as a fundamental yet developing technology, representative of the prospective direction for AI-driven cloud provisioning. The emphasis on evolving AI from decision-support tools to autonomous decision-makers was particularly salient. Additionally, the focus on sustainability underscored the collective obligation of the technology sector towards environmental stewardship, marrying AI’s potential with the imperative for sustainable innovation.

Accelerating the AWS journey

Another interesting session was the “Accelerating the AWS Journey” session where we learned about useful tools for engineering productivity such as AWS CDK, Localstack and AI coding assistants. Security and compliance tools such as CDK NAG, KICS and Prowler. Also tooling for Observability and Cost Management like Infracosts.io and cdk-monitoring-constructs looked interesting and could help/save us time in future projects.

A great networking event

Being at the AWS summit is always a great networking event for us. From topics on AWS Bedrock, serverless, prompt engineering and the change to meet AWS colleagues and customers face to face makes this day a very valuable one. But we can conclude one thing for this year, and that is that the buzzword of 2024 is Gen AI. We are looking forward to expanding our knowledge and connect even further with current and new relations.
