Mathijs our Senior Site Reliability Engineer has proven this multiple times by doing so at numerous occasions for various customers. With nearly 20 years' experience Mathijs knows exactly where to pinpoint the issue and shares handy tips and tricks on how to mitigate this. This also comes quite handy when designing new architectures or conducting an AWS well architected review.
What do you like about working for TechNative?
At TechNative there is a very nice working atmosphere. Everybody is driven to do the best they can and more and still have a laugh. We try to use the knowledge of every individual to enhance ourself and the rest of the team. Personally I always search for and try out new stuff, and this is fully embraced by TechNative. I was one of the first employees when we were just a small company with less than 10 people. Now, 4 years later we have grown a lot and it is still the same nice atmosphere.
Can you share a funny story or anecdote about something that happened in the workplace?
I actually met the whole company 4 years ago at the FOSDEM conference in Brussels. When looking for a parking spot there I ended up on a street with embassies. Looking for any signs if you were not allowed to park there, I was not the only person. There I met Walter and we looked at each other and asked where you could park here. We found a spot and walked together to the FOSDEM location and started talking. We parted our ways when we arrived there. But like within 10 minutes or so I received a message on LinkedIn from Walter, Hey, I knew I recognized you from somewhere
. Met him later, had a talk, and ended-up having dinner with the whole team that evening. And a few months later I started working at TechNative, and still like it.
What achievement are you most proud of and why?
At TechNative we are an AWS Partner and we are enrolled into several specific AWS Partner programs for which my colleagues, and myself, needed to do several trainings, certifications and customer reviews. Which we did and earned. And for a small company as TechNative was back then I think that is a very nice achievement.
What is your favorite office tradition and why?
We all try to go to the office every two weeks on Wednesday, we have lunch together, some small talk at the coffee machine, some nerd talking you name it.
